Tobacco Industry Interference

Article 5.3 of the WHO FCTC requires governments to protect public health policy from the commercial and other vested interests of the tobacco industry. It covers lobbying, conflicts of interest, front groups, and corporate influence on policymaking. GGTC monitors compliance with Article 5.3 worldwide, develops implementation tools for governments, and documents how industry interference tactics evolve over time.
